With the development of the technology of high power gearbox, higher operational speed and heavier load need rigorous requirement of efficiency, speed, reliability and security. Proper functioning of high power gearbox is important for safety of the whole system. Failure mode of gearbox is mainly gear fatigue fracture and high-temperature burning up of shaft and bearing. Therefore, monitoring of shaft temperature and tooth-root stress guarantees gearbox normal operating. Main research contents are focused on key technology of tooth-root stress and shaft temperature of marine gearbox.Working condition of a two-stage planetary gearbox is introduced and analyzed, measuring system project is presented for tooth-root stress and shaft temperature; Two-level ICPT based on loosely coupled coupling transformer is used in wireless transmission of electric energy, resistance strain gauge and PT100 are selected as sensor, STC12LE5A60S2 as microprocessor for on-line data measurement, and wireless module APC220-43 transmit data to the software on PC.Work principle, main constitute and key technology of ICPT is analyzed, mathematical model of loosely coupled coupling transformer is deduced on the basis of mutual inductance model, and its optimization factors are verified by theory and experiment. Finally application of two-level ICPT is tested to be feasible in gearbox monitoring systems.In consideration of low power consumption, minute extension and high-precision, measuring plan and hardware circuit are designed for tooth-root stress and shaft temperature of the selected gearbox. Design process and key points of stress and temperature measurement are discussed in detail. Simulated experiments demonstrate the project feasibility.
