Comparison And Study Between Bashu And Zhongyuan Celebrity Memorial Gardens

China's classical garden has lots of brilliant achievements and widely distribution. Usually it has been divided into North Garden, South Garden, and the Southern Garden three big classes according to the region. So a large number of scholars all focus on these three classes gardens. There are only few systematic studies on Bashu Garden and Zhongyuan Garden,which both have long development history and unique art style. It can not completely reflect the types and features of classical China's garden. The comparative study of Bashu Garden and Zhongyuan Garden in the country is still blank.The celebrity is the outstanding figures in the history of political, economic, cultural and other fields. They were born, or travelled, or been an official, or buried in a place, where people constructed memorial gardens for the purpose of memorializing them. Celebrity memorial garden is an important part of classical gardens and reflect the geographic features of the same region garden forms in different historical periods. Through the frame of references between Bashu and Zhongyuan each other, this thesis makes survey to more than thirty memorial gardens: Chengdu Wuhou Temple, Chengdu Dufu Thatched cottage Museum, Chengdu Wangjianglou park park, Meishan three Su Temple, Nanyang WuhouTemple, Luoyang Bai Garden, Jiaxian three Su Garden, Gongyi Dufu tomb garden and so on. It is to compare and study the development history, culture, environment, components, aspects of tour experience of these gardens, this thesis could be relatively objective and fair assessment of the study, thus helping to correctly grasp and positioning features of celebrity memorial gardens of Bashu and Zhongyuan.Both Bashu and Zhongyuan celebrity memorial gardens belong to China classical garden. Influenced by traditional culture and gardening thought, they share similarities in their culture idea, building elements and structures. Both of them are on the whole natural mountains and rivers gardens. But due to different elements of geographic environment and cultural histories, they have many obvious differences. Because of less social unrest situation, Many Bashu celebrity memorial garden remained, and they have prominent official characters. There is excellent natural scenery conditions in Bashu region, so the celebrity memorial gardens often have more biased natural landscape, less artificial traces, stronger nature of public tours, and are better protected. They have compact and detailed overall space, and pursue quiet, natural and rustic charm.Due to the frequent war and other reasons, less of Zhongyuan celebrity memorial garden are remained and most are reconstructed in modern days and have less prominent official characters. Limited by geography -climate and natural landscape conditions, celebrity memorial gardens have heavy artificial traces, strong nature of the public tour,common protection and development, and a little rough style. It can be concluded by comparison: although celebrity memorial garden of Bashu and Zhongyuan have similarities, Bashu celebrity memorial garden more pursues of the natural environment harmonization and is known for natural beauty, showing a "quiet and elegance " characteristics; At the same time, the Zhongyuan celebrity memorial garden more emphasizes on its garden memorial significance and artificial nature, integrates artificial re-creation into natural beauty, showing the "simplicity and wide" characteristics.
