With the development of converter technology and computer control technology, AC speed regulation system has attracted world attention. AC drive systems shows tremendous advantages in the performance indicators, the device volume, equipment maintenance, energy saving and even the environmental protection. Both the main drive system and the auxiliary drive system of HXD3 type electric locomotive adopts AC drive technology and computer control technology, the entire electrical system design adhere to the high starting point, the leading principle, and fully consider the actual needs of the high power freight electric locomotive. What is more, it use advanced, mature, reliable technology and undertake all-around design according to the demand of standardization, series, modular, information.According to the rapid development of China's railway, the railway locomotives'research is more and more extensive and deep. This paper mainly introduces the HXD3 type electric locomotive and the AC-DC-AC transmission system in railway locomotive operation and maintenance of the situation.The first chapter is the introduction, introduces the configuration of the AC drive system, the advantages of AC drive technology, the characteristics of the HXD3 electric locomotive and the electric drive system.The second chapter of the thesis introduces the structure of the asynchronous traction motor, its working principle, and analyzes its electromagnetic properties, mechanical properties and speed regulation characteristics.In the third chapter, based on the HXD3 type electric locomotive two working part (four quadrant rectifier power regulator, inverter frequency conversion's characteristics), introduced the working principle of locomotive main converter, PWM chopper control method; introduces rectifying circuit working principle, analysis of four quadrant rectifier principle and application of voltage type locomotive four quadrant rectifier control principle; the intermediate DC link and the role of in AC DC AC drive locomotive control this link voltage way; a comparison voltage inverter and current inverter performance, analyses the working principle of voltage source inverter; pulse width modulation of the introduction of working principle, analysis of vector control technology in asynchronous motor applications and control technology, which can be definitely AC-DC-AC the transmission method applied in the locomotive, with good traction, high power factor, and small harmonic disturbance.In the fourth chapter, combined with the Ji'nan Railway Bureau locomotive for the formulation of an existing course, present situation and I long for HXD3 locomotive practical application of the investigation, the paper describes the structure of IGBT and performance characteristics, introduces the AC-DC-AC transmission buffer and protect, and accordingly puts forward the existing problems and the maintenance improvement measures.The fifth chapter mainly introduces the HXD3 electric car circuit capacity and parameter calculation, including the asynchronous traction motor capacity and parameter determination, traction converter capacity and parameter design, PWM four quadrant rectifier parameter design, network side leakage inductance parameter design, the DC side capacitor support parameters for the design of IGBT parameters design, asynchronous traction motor, the structure electromagnetic properties, mechanical properties and characteristic of speed regulation of asynchronous motor, torque control, torque control mode design.In the sixth chapter, through the Matlab/Simulink on HXD3 electric locomotive four quadrant rectifier and the research of two level inverters, this chapter for the related simulation design, and the spectrum of harmonic to undertake simple analysis. Mainly HXD3 type electric locomotive main transmission system simulation, including the four quadrant rectifier mathematical modeling and Simulation of flash, DC control system, SPWM modulation plate, wave and harmonic analysis; at the same time on the two level inverter mathematical modeling and simulation, the SVPWM control algorithm, the two level inverter SVPWM simulation analysis.The seventh chapter of the thesis for the Ji'nan Railway Bureau of Ji'nan West locomotive depot of existing HXD3 type locomotive maintenance status, proposes to the locomotive technology layout, design and tuning range. Including HXD3 electric, auxiliary parts, walking part, a braking part and the completion of Experiment 5 maintenance link process range setting, the standard has gradually been applied to HXD3 locomotive's daily maintenance work, and were incorporated into the locomotive technology.
