There are uncertain factors in the mechanical parts extensively. Therefore, it'll be much more accordant to consider uncertain factors in the mechanical parts design. The safety and reliability of the mechanical parts is one of the major objectives of the mechanical parts design. In the reliability-based design of the mechanical parts, the reliability theory which is based on mathematic theory such as the probabilistic theory, mathematical statistics and statistics process etc. usually consider geometric parameters, material properties and loads etc. as random parameters. If the finite element analysis technology combinate to the probability design.As the key parts of tower cranes, the booms are the spatial girder grillages. The booms of the level of the reliability influent the overall reliability of the crane.Because the design of the tower crane boom is uncertainties, finite element analysis's some aspect or the input parameters is a discrete distribution of the parameters, in order to study the uncertainties how to influence the boom of performance and quality, it must use the method of probability design.Thesis will use the finite element parametric and PDS module in reliability calculation of advantages of tower crane booms, parametric and reliability analysis of influence factors, and the advantages of using VB software ANSYS, the encapsulation of operation, all user input design parameters and can generate finite element reliability analysis file, automatic call ANSYS computer to complete. Finally introduced in typical working conditions tower crane booms reliability analysis software, concrete operation procedure of state function distribution histogram, the state function of sensitive factor analysis, and reliability.By the reliability analysis of the boom, we can determine the size and nature of influence of uncertain parameters and provides reference for the design of the boom.
