1,PrefaceCurrently the competition in the auto market is more and more severe, and one of the key accesses to improve the product competitiveness is to improve the vehicle ride comfort, among which the full vehicle air leakage improvement is the most basic and important way to improve the ride comfort. The paper provides an effective and systematic solution for body air leakage improvement according to the practice to improve JMC V3 vehicle body air leakage during the product development process, for which lots of tests are conducted2,Main ContentsThe paper focuses on the application study of the material and method for the body air leakage improvement, and evaluates according to the index of the body air leakage value.ChapterⅠ: The chapter describes the impact of the body air leakage to each body attribute, and looks into the future according to the history of the body air leakage study.ChapterⅡ: The chapter summarizes the classification of the frequently-used body air leakage material according to the three big processing of body, which are Body, Paint and TCF, and summarizes the application method, related performance requirement and measurement method to each kind of material according to the physical application experience.ChapterⅢ: The chapter explains and calculates in details to the air leakage test instruments and principle, and describes the air leakage test method according to Ford test specification.Chapter IV: The chapter summarizes the body air leakage improvement method during the physical experience in JMC V3 vehicle.
