As one of the most widely used truncated valve, stop valve plays an important role in the petrochemical industry and nuclear power plant. Being an important component of reactor contain, stop valve achieves the function of gas delivery, truncation and regulation etc. Its sealing characteristics directly affects the reliable operation of the reactor contain.As one of the most important component of stop valve pair, the gasket needs more to be researched about its sealing characteristics. To research the stop valve pair sealing characteristics and it’s effect on the leakage can achieve instructive meaning in the design of valve sealing pair and component section, to enhance the sealing reliability of the valve.The research established the leakage model of the seal pair surface, based on the Roth theory, and doing the theoretical analysis to get the seal pair leakage formula under the free molecular flow and the viscous flow. Calculated the leakage of different sealing surface, such as flat surface, taper surface and the flat surface with double gasket construction, reached the conclusion about the best sealing width, compared with the experiment data, it shows this method is correct. Analyzed the effects of sealing pressure and sealing width on the leakage and their sealing properties was contrasted.The Gauss distribution theory is applied to establish the seal pair rough surface model, use CFD numerical simulation to analyze the effects of the surface parameter on the leakage under the viscous flow, it shows that the height of sealing interval and the leakage is in keeping with the exponential functions.Meanwhile,established the leakage rate model of the stop valve sealing pair,it showed that the pressure on the seal pair surface and the leakage is in keeping with the exponential functions. Furthermore,analyzed the limitation about the leakage rate model.The research about the stop valve sealing pair in this paper, can achieve instructive meaning in the design of valve sealing pair and can be used as the reference of sealing detection.
