The Cultural Design Of The Entrance Of College Landscape

The entrance of college is the important landscape node which should inherit campus's history and culture, the landscape form and design concept have own characteristic, show own talents. With the fast development of modern society, many colleges expand campus area blindly and ingore the cultural of the entrance of college.But as the institution of higher education, the cultural landscape should not lost.This paper illustrates how to implement the cultural design concept into the entrance of college, and how to create a cultural landcape design model of the entrance of college.(1) Literature review shows that the analysis of the site characteristics of the entrance of college mainly from three aspects:functional characteristics, space characteristics, environmental characteristics.Secondly, the cultural analysis of the entrance landscape of college, inculding the analysis of the cultural needs of the entrance of college landscape and some factors which influence on the cultural of the entrance of college landscape.(2) The design principles of cultural landscape design in the entrance of college were summarized. These principles provide design basis to create cultural the entrance of college. The design principles include four principles:the characteristic of campus historical cultural connotation, reasonable space distribution, the consistent of campus overall style, environmental integrity. Under the guidance of the principle, the author designs cultural the entrance of college landscape from the two aspects of space design and elements design, in order to build an ideal cultural the entrance of college landscape.(3) The existing use of the cultural the entrance of college landscape in Changsha was investigated. The entrances of three colleges landscape which have typical representative were analyzed from main gate, pavement, sketch, plant, water these aspects of their compliance with cultural design. At last this paper do a general anaylis to those, including their advantage and deficiency, then suggest the recommendation.
