This paper introduces the concept of Buckling Restrained Bracing, energy dissipation principle, advantages and disadvantages, and the application in strengthening of engineering.The principles and form of the arrangement and the determination of yield capacity, Buckling Restrained Brace for reinforcement applications, was discussed. Given the analysis and design process of Buckling Restrained Brace for reinforcement applications.Using ETABS analysis software, operated the response spectrum analysis on the original structure, and the results as a basis for seismic retrofit design. Use Buckling Restrained Brace to reinforce the original structure. Response spectrum analysis methods and the time history analysis method were used, the structure before and after reinforcement, to compared the deformation and internal forces under the the frequnent earthquake eand rare earthquake, to verify the feasibility of reinforcement and reinforcement effects.Using finite element analysis software SAP2000, analysis the seismic performance of the original structure, according to the results and comparing the advantages and disadvantages of different methods of reinforcement, Buckling Restrained Brace reinforce the original structure of the program was final choiced. Four lateral load pattern were selected, to run static nonlinear analysis (Pushover Analysis) on the structure of reinforced, and conducted for seismic performance evaluation.
