As the exploitation of the ocean resources, different kinds of high-performance ship come out, Among those ships, the trimaran are more popular. They have better resistance because of their special shape. Besides, their areas of the deck are superior to any other kinds when they are for civil or military use. The flow domain and resistance is analyzed by viscous hydrodynamics aiming at discussing the method of the resistance prediction. The influence of water-jet on the resistance of the trimaran is researched. The result of this dissertation can be a guide to the design and optimization of trimaran. In this dissertation the applicability of unstructured grid is analyzed as regards the characteristic of trimaran adopting water jet. The influence of the resistance of turbulent model on the prediction for the monohull is investigated. The flow domain and the resistance of the trimaran adopting water-jet is predicted for the selected turbulent model and the mesh mode is regular grid and unstructured grid. The pressure distribution of the lean and the lip of water-jet is researched and compared. The flow domain and the hydrodynamic characteristic between the main hull and the 2 Water-jet thrusters and different types of the stern is considered. The flow domain near the axial-flow is also included. The flow domain and resistance of the trimaran is predicted for 3 stern types and different configuration of jet.In general water-jet has a significant influence on the flow domain around the trimaran especially around the stern. And the resistance is increased compared to the one without Water-jet thrusters. The influence of the resistance is different with the type of the vessel. The minimum resistance increase is below 5% and the maximum increase is up to 30%-40%.
