In recent years, with more and more fields of business using the sensitivity load, people have more and more demands on the reliability of power system and the quality of electric power, and the cut-off and transition of the fault power are also required fast switch to execute. The traditional spring mechanism and permanent magnetic actuator and so on can not meet the requirements for its long time of starting time. Recent years, a novel high-speed repulsion actuator based on the principle of eddy current is growing up. Because of its characteristic that can cut off fault within a short time and ensure the safety of the electrical equipment, it has aroused great concern increasing.The electromagnetic repulsion actuator is a novel high-speed one based on the principle of eddy current. Its driving equipment is mainly composed of coils and repulsion dish. Its main characteristics are the short energizing time, high speed movement and the ability that can drive the switch to cut off the faults in power grid within a very short time. In this paper, an improved repulsive force driver is proposed, which realizes high speed motion and energy conservation by cooperating with the permanent magnet holding device. The novel switch has simple structure, and the holding force in open/close position is enhanced, which can guarantee the reliability of switch motion by effectively preventing bounce when the contacts move from one position to the other. What's more, the mechanical strength of the coil is enhanced by setting it into a pure iron frame. Earlier stage, the finite element analysis software Ansoft is applied to analyze the factors which influence the high-speed repulsion driver and obtain the fundamental laws which influence its motion. A 1.14kV level prototype is made based on the idea mentioned above. In the control circuit, the ATmega16L microcontroller is used for the main control unit, and with LCD monitors, keyboards and other devices to control the circuit effectively. The front passage adopts optic-couplers and realizes the isolation from the strong electricity, so enhance the security of the control system.In the experiment, a high-speed camera is used to rapidly collect images of the repulsive dish's open/closing motion and the whole process of the movement. The characteristic of the repulsive force actuator is induced by the statistics and analysis of the experimental data which is obtained by image recognition technology. Through the research of the 'two-time continuous discharge experiment' on the opening coil prototype by controlling the capacitors, it shows that this method can effectively shorten the movement time, and has more obvious advantages than one coil discharge. In the issue of preventing open rebound, the author presents an effective measure which uses an open spring as a buffer device, and proves its feasibility by experiment. In the different cases of over-travel, the opening time is about in lms. For the program analysis of three-phase synchronism of the high-speed repulsion driver is still in an exploratory stage at present, so expect to have more study in the future.
