Operating mechanism is the main part of breaker, and the quality of breaker will directly influence the safe operation of power system, therefore, operating mechanism is extremely important. The fast operating mechanism of electromagnetic catapult with simple structure, quickly speed, easy to realize electronic control and so on. It has the very good prospects for development. Therefore, the research of operating mechanism based on the electromagnetic launch is of great significance.Because of the continuously improvement requirements of switch,in order to making this actuator faster and more powerful separating brake and closing, this paper proposes a double coil parallel driven permanent magnet actuator at a high speed. Designed and producted a double coil parallel driven permanent magnet actuator for experimental study.This paper discusses the development and the present situation of electromagnetic launch technology and operating mechanism,expounds the working principle of single and double coil parallel driven permanent magnet actuator. To the double coil parallel driven permanent magnet actuator, designed the size of all parts in the double one and made calculation. It uses Ansoft building model and contrasts test results. From the result of simulation, the new improved one has faster speed and larger force, thus, it complete the optimization design.According to the above research, designed and producted a double coil parallel driven permanent magnet actuator for experimental study and designed a experiment research, through the simulation results showing that the model of the actual experimental results and the simulation results are basically identical. Compared with the single coil parallel driven permanent magnet actuator, the double coil parallel driven permanent magnet actuator has a faster and more powerful separating brake and closing. Thus, the double coil parallel driven permanent magnet actuator achieves a kind of optimization.
