In recent years, with the exhaust of the fossil fuel and the environmental pollution to exploit fossil fuel, to exploit new energy resources to keep sustainable development of human society have become the topic that each country pays close attention to most. In the some types of new energy, solar energy is considered the ideal alternate energy source by many experts, because solar have many unique merits, such as non-pollution, inexhaustible, solar photovoltaic power technology also become a key topic that each country beat a path to research。The research of solar energy main focus on connecting to the power system now, which also is the development tendency of solar power technology. But in some remote areas which can not connect to the power system need independent solar photovoltaic to solve the illumination, so the main research of this paper is use the independent network of solar photovoltaic to meet the illumination of the remote areas.First, the paper analyze the domestic and international present of solar photovoltaic, and introduce the principle of stand-alone and grid-connected PV power system, and the main content.The second chapter analyze the output characteristic of photovoltaic cell, set up the mathematical model. Firstly, base on the model to use MATLAB to set up the simulation model to simulate the change of output characteristic with the change of external condition of photovoltaic cell.The third chapter analyze the principle and the technology of charge-discharge of storage battery. the stand-alone PV needs storage battery to store energy and provide to the load when it needs energy, This process involves the technology of charge-discharge and the protect of the storage battery.The fourth chapter analyze the DC/DC converter which is used to carries the MPPT function of storage battery, this paper compares several converters and select the optimum converter, involving the design and calculate of parameter and the simulation model of converter using MATLAB.The fifth chapter raises several MPPT algorithm, and use MATLAB simulation simulate the tracing, select the algorithm than suit this paper design.The sixth chapter is the design of the control circuit, this design select AVR SCM. use AVR output PWM pulse to control the switching tube of BOOST circuit to realize the charge to storage battery in MPPT way, and realize the protect to storage battery.The seventh chapter is the experiment, which testify reliability of the output characteristic use the MATLAB simulation model and the MPPT use the BOOST converter.
