This paper for the rural market in China, mainly in the Yangtze River Delta region, considers the rural market and users as the research objects .It studies the market for household refrigerators respectively from the three aspects of the rural market environment, the user's behavior and user's aesthetic awareness in rural China, and makes some instructional suggestions for the design.Rural market environment includes the influence of the brands, the brands'sales model for the rural market, consumers'consumption behavior and so on. This paper focuses on some major domestic home appliances stores or sales staff from the designated location, and reflects the basic information of rural market customer's requirements through the purchasing brands and the way of users'intent.Behavior of users includes the purchasing, diet, operating and general living habits and so on. This article investigate the users from the purchasing way, operating practices and the regional living behavior in the three Yangtze River Delta region, including user-depth interviews and a general survey, to make data statistics and extract the users'basic requirements for refrigerator to design.Finally, the article makes the assessment and optimization for the feasibility of the design .For rural aesthetic and cognitive characteristics of users, this article investigates from the product shape, color, material and functional requirements and other aspects, and obtains the basic requirements based on the users'cognitive and aesthetic, then use the survey to confirm, and finally with the design of such characteristics to complete the design and conduct market validation.This paper involves both the rural market and rural users, adds them up to propose the conductive recommendations for household refrigerators and improve the success rate of home appliances. Importantly it makes the designers form the concept of a certain target market design.
