Energy and environment problem become more and more serious because of the rapid development of modern industry and the increasing depletion of fossil fuels, as a renewable energy, wind power becomes the fastest growing renewable energy of the world. Because the random, intermittent and uncontrollable nature of wind power, its impact to the grid becomes more serious as its capacity becomes more high. According to the problem during grid dispatch and operation, following issues will be analyzed in this thesis:The analysis of power flow calculation algorithm in system containing wind farm will be given first, because it is the basis of the research of the impact to grid steady state operation. According to the model of the wind generator, power flow calculation algorithm in system containing wind farm is summarized on the basis of the traditional power flow calculation algorithm, and it is proved using an example.The impact to grid voltage deviation after the injection of wind power and counter-measure is analyzed, the injection of high-capacity wind power will affect power quality of the grid because the random, intermittent and uncontrollable nature of wind power, its impact to grid voltage deviation become most obvious because reactive power absorption of the wind power farm. The installation of reactive compensation device on the wind power farm is the most economic method to solve such problem according to the reactive local compensation rule. In order to confirm the reactive power compensation capacity, we consider that the minimum voltage deviation as the target function and the wind speed as the single variable in this thesis. Power flow calculation was given for the system contained compensation device in order to check the effect of the reactive power compensation.The impact to relay protection after the injection of wind power.It has considered inadequate for wind during the allocation and setting of the relay protection device. Traditional Segmented current protection has bad adaptability to system contained DG, the protection maybe misoperation if the wind power farm can provide short-circuit current as its capacity is big enough. The impact to traditional relay protection after the injection of wind power is analyzed in this thesis, and some schemed are provided, island protection also be discussed in this thesis.
