The control system is mainly to achieve the AC and DC equipment monitoring and control functions, reliable, rapid, coordinated control of bipolar operation mode, transmission power, coordination of the two group per pole DC current, DC voltage, and control mode, so that reliable and stable operation of the HVDC.As a result of complicated wiring, changeable operation mode and complicated wiring control process, some loopholes and weak areas exist in the control and protection system of the high voltage direct current transmission system. Control and protection system can correct operate correctly, cut off the fault equipment rapidly when primary equipment malfunction, which can be shown by years of operating experience。Statistics shows that their own reasons such as component damage and elay contact adhesion, take considerable proportion in causing DC equipment trip or forced outage, DC control and protection system, r and its causes. This paper is based on the components of DC protection system– Board, for detailed analysis. This paper is focused on some typical boards used in CSG HVDC control and protection system, starts from the present research of the HVDC transmission reliability, introducs the structure, function and action characteristics of DC control and protection system .The factors which influence reliability of board can be digged from board damaged data. Its influence can be evaluated through Grey comprehensive evaluation, and then corresponding improvement measures. According to the data, we can estimate the average life expectancy of the board by least-squares method and then establish spare complementary strategy.
