Distribution network is the last link of the Power Transmission and Distribution System, and its degree of automation for the power to achieve the quality and reliability are closely related. After nearly four decades of development in foreign distribution automation, modern management that has become an indispensable power parts, is to enhance customer service quality and improve the economic efficiency of the primary means. In China, from the late 1990s, the work of distribution automation has been carried out, however, the majority of the early construction of the distribution automation system does not play its due role.The development of Distribution Automation System at home and abroad is first introduced, and to the status quo of the existing problems, then presents the Distribution Network Automation System objectives, technology and performance requirements.From the practical application, to explore how a planned way for distribution automation system carry out, also described the overall system design, design goals, and in-depth analysis of the composition of Distribution Automation System with the main station, sub-station / terminals. Meanwhile, the system with feed-related automation equipment, fault indicators, the communication technology requirements, are also discussed.Finally, Zhongshan Power Supply Bureau Distribution Automation System, for example, a comprehensive overview of the contents of the aforementioned case in practical engineering applications, and operating data with the actual introduction of the system operation and effectiveness of expression. The aim of this study is to promote China's distribution automation process of construction of practical, and has essential effect on smart distribution grid construction.
