Distribution automation is integrated technology, it set distribution automation and distribution management into an advanced management system, which can promote the stability and responsibility, reduce the outage time, improve the control level distribution network, improve the operation and management level and improve customers’satisfaction. Based on the practical condition of the power network of Fujin, it’s necessary to construct the distribution automation system.Based on the analysis of progress and the disadvantages of current distribution automation system, this dissertation designed and developed the distribution automation system that is suitable for the urban power grid, combining with the actual operation situation of Fujin regional power grid. According to the actual requirement of power grid, there are five aspects to design the practical distribution automation system, that is the specific primary station, sub-station, terminal function, feeder automation mode and communication channel. And the specific features and technical requirements to be met of the system is explicited. Finally, combining with the actual features of Fujin regional power grid, the developed distribution automation system can be off-line test and on-line application.the running results shows that the developed system can provide the timely and reliable auxiliary support for the Fujin regional urban power supply, solve the technical difficulty caused by numerous equipments, achieve the dynamic real-time monitoring of the daily distribution network, and can provide scientific, timely and effective power supply recovery decision-making plan after faults..
