The array gun-barrel weapon is the key equipment to the shipboard low-altitude defence system. The flying velocity of projectiles needs to be measured during the process of the argument, the development, the production, and the calibration in array gun-barrel weapon system. The projectile velocity measurement methods for the array gun-barrel weapon are studied, and three kind of measuring methods basing on the light-screen array are put forward including the method of the subdivision six-light-screen array, the seven-light-screen array, and the four-light-screen combined array.Every light-screen of the typical double V pattern six-light-screen array is divided into many small sensor areas according to the spatial distribution of the gun-barrel, and then the subdivision six-light-screen array is set up. The time sequence identification algorithm is studied. When multiple flying projectiles go through the light-screen array, the time sequence of a projectile can be identified basing on the coherence between the spatial distribution of the barrage and the spatial distribution of the gun-barrel. Finally, the method is verified on the Matlab using a five-gun-barrel array gun-barrel weapon.Seven-light-screen array is set up by adding a light-screen in the middle of the double V pattern six-light-screen array. Identify the time sequence of the same projectile basing on the symmetry characteristics and the straight line ballistic trajectory principle, and then carry out the velocity of the projectiles. The time sequence identification algorithm is put forward on a double gun-barrel weapon, which is verified using Matlab.Four-light-screen combined array is composed of the spatial subdivision light-screen formed by the array CCD and the analog light-screen formed by photoelectric cell. According to the structure of the light-screen array, the feature of the spatial subdivision light-screen and the principle of the straight line ballistic trajectory, the velocity of the projectile can be worked out. The identification algorithm of time sequence for the same projectile is put forward on a double gun-barrel weapon, and the feasibility was verified using Matlab. Aiming at the velocity measurement methods, the technology of setting up both the large sensor area subdivision light-screen and the reflection light-screen light-screens is studied. The sensitivity distribution of the reflection light-screen is analyzed and tested by 4.5mm caliber air gun projectiles.Finally, errs of measuring methods are analyzed and simulated using Matlab, and the results show that the relative velocity measurement errors are less than 0.5%, which can meet the requirement of the technological specification, and all the methods can be applied to actual engineering.
