The suspension bridge spanning capacity is the largest in all of bridge type. Across the river, canyons and other areas, the suspension bridge will become a necessary program. With China's economic development, the suspension bridge project has become more and more, the suspension bridge design theory is continued developing, there are many problems that need further study. This paper is based on the Yangtze river bridge for engineering background, studying single span suspension bridge, consider the suspension the two systems bridge---parallel systems and space systems, change the suspension bridge design parameters, study the impact of design parameters on the static characteristics of suspension bridges.(1) This paper describes the history of the world's suspension bridges, and the suspension bridge features. The development of China's suspension bridge, the future of suspension bridges develops trends.(2) described the development of the computational theory of suspension bridges, from the earlier theory of elasticity, to the deflection theory, now by computer finite displacement theory. This paper uses the finite displacement theory as the theoretical basis.(3) described the background of the project overview, and explained the two systems suspension bridge, and under the same conditions to compare the static characteristics of the two system suspension bridge.
