Security, economy and application are the basic criterias for architecture structure design. To meet functional requirements of the building, technical conflicts need to be solved during architecture design process. Solving these conflicts or problems usually rely on professional knowledge or experience. In this dissertation, innovation theories and methods are applied to solve structural contradictions encountered in design. Extension Theory and TRIZ theory are applied to structure design of G Trade Building. And good results are achieved.During project design phase, problem in design of conversion beam and how to enhance stiffness by adding truss are solved based on Material field model. 3 proposals are obtained after problems encountered in the formative stages of project are solved. Based on 3 proposals, Diamond Thinking in Extension Theory is applied to evaluate them, including analysis of extension model, evaluation condition and assignment of weights. Score of each proposal is calculated after data are obtained by survey and the final appropriate proposal is determined as optional proposal. In the preliminary design stage, for solution of pile foundation design problems, Technology Contradiction and Innovation Principles are implemented to solve problems including underground foundation pile length, high cost and long duration. Theories and methods applied or proposed in this dissertation are good references for solution of diversified problems during architecture design stage.
