Spoiler is commonly used techniques of thrust vector control(TVC), widely used in tactical missile, and the TVC technology with spoiler was studied in this paper. The feature of the flow field of the spoiler and the factors affecting aerodynamic forces would be studied, on this basis, the design of the test system included a hydraulic rudder was been carried out,and then ignition test was been conducted.Toward the nozzle flow field with one spoiler, using RNG k-εturbulence model and FLUENT software, studied the relationship between side force and axial thrust loss and the factors:the shape of the spoiler, the spoiler height which stretched the nozzle exit area, nozzle expansion half-angle, nozzle expansion ratio, and the combustion chamber pressure. As the same time, obtained the mechanism how the aerodynamic force produced: spoiler blocking part area of the nozzle flow field lead to pressure distribution inequality. Pressure difference generats aerodynamic force. The hydraulic rudder system which used for TVC with spoiler was been designed for a certain type of solid rocket motor(SRM),and focused on the designing of a driveing circuit for electro-hydraulic servo valve, piston rob and spoiler connecting mechanism. We studied in the no-loading conditions and the loading conditions to examine the rationality of the hydraulic rudder system and the situation of the matching condition index. The results showed that:the hydraulic rudder system having good dynamic response, having perfect tracking ability, fast reaction speed, high positioning accuracy, and in the experiment with step signal inputed, the hydraulic rudder system dynamic response fast, having the short delay time, small overshoot, and in the application, spoiler maximum deflection angle reached 38 degree, and in full compliance with the designing expectations. Finally, ignition experiment with one soiler was been conducted, and tested the ballistic performance of the SRM,and also tested the side force and the axial thrust loss when the spoiler stretched different height.Experimentally measured side force results and numerical simulation results agrees well.
