Green modularization design incorporates green design into modular design, which enables enterprises to possess the ability of quick response to the change in market while bringing less pollution to the environment in all stages of product life cycle. To balance the functional and physical factors and environmental factors in the process of green module partition of electromechanical product, the information model of green modularization for is constructed by taking the set of components, the attributes of component and the structure as elements, and two optimization objectives of green module partition are proposed. Based on that, the method of green module partition is established in which genetic algorithm is employed. After that, a case study is offered to illustrate the methodology of green modular partition, in which the green module partition of part of wheel loader is realized.In Chapter One, the relation between modular design and green modular design is established, and the related research on modular design and green design are reviewed. And then, the challenges faced in green modularization design are identified. In the end, the content and framework of the study is illustrated.In Chapter Two, the information model of green modularization for electromechanical product life cycle is constructed, which is based on three key elements including the set of components, the attributes of component and the structure. The interaction relations are analyzed from the functional, physical and green perspectives. In the end, the degree of comprehensive modularity and the degree of realization of phases for product life cycle are defined as the two optimization objectives of green module partition.In Chapter Three, taking the degree of comprehensive modularity and the degree of realization of phases for product life cycle as optimization objectives, the method of green module partition incorporating multiple genetic algorithm is established on the basis of the information model of green modularization, which involves green module partition for phases and comprehensive green module partition.In Chapter Four, the methodology of green module partition proposed is implemented on part of wheel loader. Accordingly, a series of comprehensive green module partition scenarios are obtained.In Chapter Five, the content of the study is reviewed and the prospect for future work is offered.
