Research On Process And Method Of Conceptual Design For Green Product

With the increasing economy people have to face the more and more serious problems of environment and resource. In the past decades, people have done a lot of work, such as pollution treatment and clean production, and made some achievements. However these terminal-type methods cannot solve the environment problems ultimately because the basic properties have been determined in the design phase and will produce all kinds of environmental effects in the whole product life cycle. Many people have realized that Green Design is a key to the environmental problems in manufacturing. Conceptual design is the initial and important phase of product design, the mistakes in this phase is very difficult to be corrected in the subsequent design phases. So conceptual design for green product has crucial contribution to the green properties of a product. Based on the status quo of relative research, the green product information model for conceptual design is built, the method of requirement analysis of green design is given, the conceptual scheme generation of green product is studied, and the method and process of assessment of green product conceptual scheme is discussed in this dissertation.The green product information model should include not only the information of function and structure, which is often included in the traditional product information model, but also the information describing the environmental properties of product in its life cycle. The definition of design object in conceptual design of green product is introduced according to the analysis of product life cycle information, and the compound green product information model is constructed based on design object.Designers have to know the requirements in product life cycle as much as possible before they begin to design the product firstly. The basic steps and features of requirements of green design is described, the approaches of get the requirements is introduced, and the detailed and specific environmental requirements is attained by three stages including obtaining the conventional requirements, translating the conventional requirements and achieving the environmental requirements.The conceptual scheme generation of green product is an evolving process from requirements to structure of product, which considering both the basic functions and environmental performance of product. The function structure of the green product is constructed, the environmental requirements of every structure element is decided based on the QFED method, the environmental friendly physical elements are chosen, and the compound structure is attained by combining these physical elements according to the rules of function and environment.The assessment of green product is very important to guide the design process and perfect the design scheme. The assessment index system is established, the method to determining the weight and getting the value of assessment index is introduced, the "green level" of the design scheme is computed based on the fuzzy assessment principle, and the assessment result is analyzed.A case about the design of containing box of fridge is given in the end to describe the conceptual design process of green product and explain the method adopted in this dissertation in detail.
