Recently electronic equipment plays a leading part in the development of the domestic heavy truck toward more comfort and human. Inevitably, electric switches and electronic equipments controlled by the traditional automobile wiring harness increases sharply. The diagnostics and maintenances of the electrical system in the vehicle costs more because of many failed nodes and poor reliabilities. Buses invented in this condition could save a lot of space and improve the reliability of the system greatly, conductive to the upgrade and diagnostics of the system. As one of the most widely-used international vehicle networking technologies, CAN-bus technology will accelerate the development of automobile industry in our country, reduce costs and expand market occupancy. CAN (Controller Area Network) bus is a serial multi-master controller area network bus. It has a high quality of the highly network security, low cost of the network ,reliable and real-time communication while simple and practical ,especially for the automotive computer controlling systems and industrial environments with poor conditions, electromagnetic radiation intensity and vibration.Body control module is an important part in the control system of heavy trucks based on the CAN bus, reflecting the people's requirements to vehicle safety, comfort and convenience. This main research of the article is the design to the Body control module based on the CAN-bus.Firstly, the paper introduces the CAN-bus technology in detail, analyzing its features, structure, working principle . SAE J1939 which is suitable for heavy trucks and vans is used in this paper. After studied the function and working principle of the Body control module in the vehicle ,the paper proposes the design principle and program of the Body control module based on the CAN bus system. Then based on the whole program, this paper designs the hardware and software of the body main control part, chassis lighting part, power part, and output part, signal control part, CAN communication part. And then, after analyzing the process of the software design of the body control module, elaborates the structure and design process of the main and all the functional program, focused on the lighting system, signal acquisition system and the CAN communication system while describes the design of the energy-saving and reliability of the software. Finally, the system debug and function test of the Body control module which including the debug of the hardware and software is lauched. The data's sending and receiving of the CAN communication and tests of performances of the hardware are also included . All the testing results reach the national standard.Now the body control module has passed the actual loading functional tests and the regular road tests. Tests work out that the module fully meet the demands of modern heavy trucks'body control with good feasibility in a certain degree ready for entering the market.
