In recent years, with the rapid development of Industry, high-power nonlinear loads is increasing. The impact on grid and harmonic pollution are showed that is a rising trend, giving rise to a variety of power quality problems. With reactive power compensation of the status of technical development in power system, the study is designed for reactive power compensation device (SVC) based on the three-phase unbalanced load, for the purpose of fast reactive power compensation and the best compensation for low-voltage grid.The main contents of this article, including reactive power compensation devices for power quality improvement, reactive power compensation is uesd for software design, reactive power compensation is uesd for hardware design, the reactive power compensation is uesd for strategy design and the use of MATLAB for the simulation. The selection of the hardware part in the hardware system as the core framework of the entire reactive power compensation device chooses DSP chip (TMS320LF2407A), and peripheral hardware circuit based on this design. The software part is based on Fast Fourier transformation (FFT) and the use of the symmetrical component method to analyze the three-phase unbalanced load compensation as the main theoretical basis for the voltage to the acquisition, the current digital harmonic analysis to arrive at the main cast cut criterion, In accordance with "the premise to ensure that the voltage does not limit the transformer from the system to absorb reactive power minimum and the principle of "take the flat padded" into the grid.Finally, by using MATLAB on the reactive power compensation system modeling, simulation, concluded by the simulation waveform before and after compensation, In this paper, the design of reactive power compensation device can be very good to do the following, for example maximize the power factor of the grid, not been compensated, switching shock, impact switching, responsive, quickly.
