Research On The Schlll Bus Children Restraint System

Now, the accidents of school bus occurred frequently, more and more attention was paid to the safety of the children. Because China has not introduced the industry standards and regulations on the child restraint system, the usage of the safety belt is very low. And owing to the awareness of safety is very weak, many of the existing school bus are not equipped with the safety belt. Therefore, learning the developed countries'mature theory and the research results and researching on the safety of the school-age children, is very useful to improve our regulations and industry standards of the school-age children safety, and it is useful to guide the study of the child safety.The seat belt is the basic component of the passenger restraint system. When the vehicles collide, it can protect the passengers effectively to reduce the injuries. Installed seat belts correctly, the loose margin is from two aspects, firstly, the clothes of the passenger itself has the certain thickness, secondly part loose margin was hidden in the seat belt device, the pre-tensioning device can instantly tighten the seat belts to eliminate the loose margin partially in an accident. Now the three-point seat belts are used commonly, which is composed of the shoulder and lap belt. But the pretensioner is usually connected to the shoulder belt, which can only eliminate the part loose margin of the shoulder belt, not the lap belt. If there is another pretensioner installed on the lap belt, the loose margin of the lap belt can be eliminated in the accident, which is the double-pretensioner belt.A solid model of school bus was established by MADYMO to simulate the dynamics response of children in collision. Firstly, the seat was equipped with the single pretensioner belts to show the importance of the seat belts for the children; Secondly, two types of the double-pretensioner seat belts were introduced to replace the single pretensioner belts, the protective effect of two types of seat belts on the child dummy was compared; Thirdly, different pretension time was set to analyze how the pretension time affect the protective effect of the double-pretensioner seat belts.The results show that the double-pretensioner belt can reduce the injury of children, and compared to arranged in the anchor, the second pretensioner of double-pretensioner belt arranged in buckle can protect the children better, which show the double-pretensioner belt is useful for children.
