With the great challenge of the global energy crisis and environmental pollution, developing new energy vehicles and engineering machineries and realizing the energy conservation and emission reduction, and promoting the traditional industry strategic transformation in international have already formed the broad consensus. In recent years, as China's economic development and the urbanization acceleration, engineering machinery industry has been developed rapidly. Engineering machinery faces pressure of energy saving and emission reduction which has been a serious problem. The traditional diesel forklift as one of widely applied engineering machineries often works in complex operation conditions and big and frequent changes'load, so using the hybrid system for forklift energy has great significance in conservation and emission reduction.The hybrid forklift of three tons is treated as the research object in this paper. Firstly, Simplified conditions and operational characteristic of the forklift were put forward, based on the multianalysis operation condition of the forklift. Then all sorts of hybrid vehicles'configuration characteristics were comprehensively analyzed and compared, and the single axis parallel forklift hybrid system were selected. For forklift hybrid system main parts:engine, ISG motor, generator and power battery, which were selected and designed parameters. The dynamic system of the combustion forklift and hybrid forklift used the Cruise to build models. On the base of analyzing and comparing control strategies of the parallel hybrid vehicles, power auxiliary control strategy is proposed, which is fit to hybrid forklift, and it was built a model in Simulink/Stateflow. Through the Matlab-DLL module to bring the control strategy model into the dynamic system model, then simulation can be done, and the dynamic performance, economic performance of the original diesel forklift and the hybrid forklift could be compared and analyzed.The result of simulation had proved that the hybrid forklift designed in the paper was more energy saving than diesel forklift, and its dynamic property was as well as diesel forklift. It provided theoretical guidance and reference for the further development of the hybrid forklift.
