Research And Application Of Reusable Design Resource Based On PDM

As the requirements in the manufacturing has changed, traditional massivedesign pattern can not adapt to the current market.Today's market is not the same as before. Customers have various individual needs. The ability to make quick response to the market becomes the core competence of a enterprise.Under the circumstance, modu-lar design and design reuse are widely used. Product data management (PDM) becomes a main design platform. As a kind of important design resource, the number of CAD models increase rapidly with broadly application of3D CAD systems. In or-der to improve the reusability of design resources and reduce the cost of product de-velopment,some key technologies are researched, such as construction of reusable design resource,management of reusable design resource and coding of reusable de-sign resource. The works of this dissertation is as follows:(1) The architecture of PDM is researched as well as the concept about PDM.The creation and management of design reuse unit is also researched.The architecture of design reuse based on PDM platform is researched after a deep research about archi-tecture of PDM and design reuse unit.(2) Several key technologies about constructing reusable design resource based on PDM platform were researched. Technologies for supporting design reuse also were analyzed.(3) The thesis analyzed different methods to construct reusable design resource according to the characteristic of the design resource.The management of reusable design resource and product development mode were also researched. The implement methods of design resource unit, pattern of using the design unit and the data prop-erty-oriented searches on PDM implementation were elaborated.(4) By analyzing the situation in the enterprise, the author found the problems about coding system.According to the characteristic of the product, the author provided the corresponding coding method for reusable design resource. The princi-ple and matters needed attention about coding method of reusable desgin resource also were researched.The coder of reusable design resource based on Enterprise PDM was developed, which improved the utilization ratio of the reusable design re-source. The above methods were applied in one enterprise. It had been found that the construction of reusable design resource based on PDM platform reduced redundant data in the enterprise.
