The production line balancing improved accompanied with the birth of the production line. A production line, which has a higher line balancing rate, can increase the utilization of the equipment and personnel, improve the production efficiency and product quality, reduce in-process inventory, and the wait of the handling of waste. Until now, the line balancing techniques mainly include optimization methods, heuristic methods industrial engineering methods and the using of simulation technology. Each method has both its advantages and disadvantages in solving the line balancing problem, we should choose the appropriate line balancing technique according to the enterprise's own characteristic so as to solve the practical problems. This paper takes the production line as the study object. The carbon fiber bike production line is carried out to be researched, analysised in the present situation to be found the factors that affect the production line balance rate, such as the waste of the existence of waiting, handling and the products, the standard of operating time not to be accurate and the workstation divisioned method not to be scientific, and it is improved. Combined with the concept of group technology, using production flow analysis to divise the parts of the part family, and group unit layout is optimizated.Using work measurement techniques of the basic Industrial Engineering to be developed standard working hours of the various operating elements, providing a basis data for the production line balancing, applicating heuristic algorithm to divide the operating element, improve the efficiency of the production line and enhance the capacity of the enterprise.
