21 biological physiological and morphological indexes such as early yield per plant, fruit weight, net photosynthetic rate, vitamin C were measured using 10 strains and 9 hybrid varieties of hot pepper as the materials, respectively. The correlation and heterocyst of each character were analyzed at the same time. The identifying relationships of 19 hot pepper were identified by using ISSR labeling. The conclusions were as follows:1. There were remarkable positive correlations between hot pepper yield of per plant and net photosynthetic rate, fruit weight, fruit length. On the other hand, there was negative correlation between net photosynthetic rate and protein content.2. Heterocyst of hot pepper was quite common.48.7% character combination showed positive advantages while 49.2% character combination showed negative advantages. Only 2.1% character combinations showed no heterocyst.3. There were remarkable correlations between parents and their F1 hybrids in net photosynthetic rate, leaf area, plant height, early yield of per plant and other characters. Due to parent-offspring correlation analysis, earliness and high yield of F1 hybrids could be improved by choosing different parents.4. Pepper hysteresis varied in different characters. The most significant one was early yield of per plant, then fruit length, fruit width and fruit thickness in sequence. The ratio of heterocyst over middle parent and over high parent kept concord in order to pepper hysteresis. Heterocyst over middle parent of 9 characters of F-1 was remarkable, at the ratio of 42.9%.8 characters were significant in heterocyst over high parent, at the ratio of 38.1%.The combination L2-7×L2o-9,L6龙泉æ¤'×L8,L2o-9×L2-7,L2o-9×118#-1 were significant in each character. The variation range varied in different parents and different characters. The better heterocyst was the wider the variation, the worse heterocyst was the weaker variation.5. Relationship was identified by ISSR labeling. When the similarity was 0.73,19 hot pepper could be divided into four major categories. Genetic similarity was an important index in measuring germless resources. The genetic similarities among L2-7,L2o-9,L6龙泉 æ¤',L8,118#-lwere relatively small, so the heterocyst of their Fl were relatively obvious, which coincided with physiological and morphological analytical results.
