The animal husbandry is one of the basic industries in Tibet area, but the forage grass insufficient has already seriously hindered the development of local animal husbandry economy. Make use the part of farming land to grow high yield and quality crops is a good solution for the lack of local forage. In the research, at an altitude of 3836m in Jangdam Village of Shigatse City, Tibet. Oats (Avena sativa L. cv. Qingyin No.1) and forage-type triticale (Triticale Wittmack cv. Dongsi No.1) were introduced and the local barley (Hordeum vulgare L. var. Nudum Hook.f. cv. Kunlun No.12) as control. The effect of two crops a year, regeneration shoots and the compaction method on the forage yield and quality were investigated. The main research results fellow as below:1. Compared to one crop a year, two crops a year significantly enhanced the total growth height, forage yield, CP yield, NDF yield, ADF yield and soluble sugar yield of Planting Oats and forage-type triticale. But starch yield is lower than the one crop a year.2. Compared to one crop a year, two crops a year significantly enhanced the average content of CP and soluble sugar of Planting Oats and forage-type triticale. But the average content of NDF, ADF and starch is lower than the one crop a year.3. Regardless of the stubble height, the mowing of oat, forage-type triticale and naked barley resulted in plant death, and a yield of the second crop was not obtained. Therefore, it is inappropriate regeneration in cutting grass management to improve yield in Tibet Shigatse area.4. Compared to traditional plowing method, additional compaction treatment significantly enhanced the Oats, forage-type triticale and local barley. Comparison Between Two different cultivation manners, the germination rate of local barley is highest, but the forage yield of oats is highest.5. Whether In traditional plowing method and additional compaction treatment, the highest content of CP, soluble sugar and starch is respectively local barley, Oats and forage-type triticale, but the highest content of NDF and ADF are forage-type triticale and oats.6. In traditional plowing method and additional compaction treatment, the highest yield of CP and starch are forage-type triticale; the highest yield of NDF and ADF are forage-type triticale and oats; the highest yield of soluble sugar are oats.
