Effects of different fertilizer types and their amount on seedling height, basal diameter, photosynthetic features, fiber morphology, and nutrient allocation were investigated in this study.The main object of this study was to provide scientific management measures of fertilization for the plantation of Salix intagra on beach land along Huauihe River. The main results were as follows:The influences of fertilizer type, fertilization amount and interactive effect between fertilizer type and amount on net photosynthetic rate, stomata conductance, intercellular carbon dioxide concentration and transpiration rate were very significantly, and the highest photosynthetic rate was achieved in the ammonium phosphate treatment of 75 kg·hm-2. There were very significant differences in leaf area index and chlorophyll relative content among different fertilization amount. The chlorophyll relative content were also influenced by fertilizer types.The fiber content, fiber length, fiber width, ratio of length to width, fiber wall thickness chamber diameter and wall cavity of the fourth ring in Salix intagra were significantly affected by fertilizer type, fertilization amount and interactive effect between fertilizater type and amount. The wood basic density was also significantly affected by fertilization amount and showed gradually increasing trend when fertilization amount increased.Fertilizer typers significantly influenced the content of N, P, K, Ca, Mg in leafs and N, P, Mg in barks. Content of N in leaf, branch, bark and stem, as well as the content of P, K, Ca, Mg in leaf were significantly affected by fertilization amount.There were very significant differences in seedling height, stem biomass, leaf biomass among different fertilizer type and fertilization amount. Variation in basal diameter affected by fertilization amount and interactive effect between fertilization type and amount were also very greatly. The seedling heights affected by urea fertilizer were higher than these without fertilization treatment. The largest seedling height, stem biomass and aboveground biomass were obtained in the the urea fertilizer of 75 kg·hm-2.Based on the results, we suggest that the urea fertilizer with 75 kg·hm-2 could be applied for the one-year old plantations of Salix intagra at research site..
