Study On Dust Catching Ability And Effectiveness Of Dust Pollution On Photosynthetic Parameters Of Three Vertical Greening Plants

The author chose three kinds of vertical green plants:Parthenocissus tricuspidata, Rosa multiflora, Jasminum mesnyi which were used most widely in Nanjing to investigate the application of vertical green plants. At four typical places where plants have nearly grown in the same conditions. The author used the method that investigating and sampling in natural condition, and ascertaining by measuring inside. In order to provide evidence for the future application of vertical green plants, the author studied on their ability of catching dust and do some research on the changing of dust and leaf photosynthetic indexes of them under air pollution. The main results are as follows:(1) Because of the figure, size of leaves, and the place where the plants grow are different, the abilities of catching dust of three plants are not same. The ability of catching dust of three vertical green plants leaves:Parthenocissus tricuspidata> Rosa multiflora> Jasminum mesnyi. The dust catching ability of three vertical green plants has significant differences and Parthenocissus tricuspidata has the strongest capacity. Futhermore, the ability of catching dust of three vertical green plants leaves have associated with air pollution concentration. At the same site, the ability of catching dust lined up from more to less as follow:Xinzhuang>Zhonghuamen >Maigaoqiao>Nanjing forest university.(2) The three plants in the same condition have different dust catching ability. During the period of rainfall, the three plants have the most disparity at Xinzhuang. On 11th May, Parthenocissus tricuspidata had caught 12.28g/m2 dust, Jasminum mesnyi had caught 1.41g/m2 dust, and Rosamultiflora had caught 3.33g/m dust. the three plants have the least disparity at Nanjing forest university. On 5th July, Parthenocissus tricuspidata had caught 2.83g/m2 dust, Jasminum mesnyi had caught 1.49g/m2 dust, and Rosamultiflora had caught 2.45g/m2 dust. At four places, the ability of catching dust of three vertical green plants leaves are:Parthenocissus tricuspidata> Rosa multiflora> Jasminum mesnyi.(3) The ability of catching dust of leaves are affect by air condition before the dust quantity that plants caught has got their limits, catching dust quantity of the same plant will be accordance with the dust quantity in the air. Plants can not get their limits in natural condition, in result of the experiment, the most dust catching quantity of Parthenocissus tricuspidata is 24.835g/m2, the most dust catching quantity of Rosa multiflora is 14.614g/m2, the most dust catching quantity of Jasminum mesnyi. is 11.934 g/m2.(4) The total dust catching quantity of plants is all the quantities of every time before and after rainfall. In this experiment period, the total dust catching quantity of three plants is as follow:Parthenocissus tricuspidata> Rosa multiflora> Jasminum mesnyi.(5); The skin and piles of leaves can affect the dust catching ability of plants. The dust catching ability is concerned with environment. In this experiment, the author learnt that the wind will affect the dust catching ability, and the dust catching quantity of Rosa multiflora changed obviously.(6) The effectiveness of dust pollution on Photosynthetic parameters of Three Vertical Greening Plants is obvious. Before catching dust, the Pn of Jasminum mesnyi is 16.66μmol/m/s, and after catching dust, the Pn of Jasminum mesnyi is 16.16μmol/m2/s; before catching dust, the Pn of Rosa multiflora is 16.37μmol/m2/s, and after catching dust, the Pn of Rosa multiflora is 16.09μmol/m2/s; before catching dust, the Pn of Parthenocissus tricuspidata is 16.06μmol/m2/s, and after catching dust, the Pn of Parthenocissus tricuspidata is 15.39μmol/m2/s.(7) The dust catching ability of leaves have significantly negative correlation between the lost of photosynthetic rate(Pn),transpiration rate(E), gs. The responses of photosynthetic and dust catching indexes of three vertical plants to air pollution wasn't significant correlation.
