Tilia miqueliana germination seedings were choosen and divided into4groups in thisexperiment,including three different cutting roots ratio group(2/3cutting roots,1/2cutting roots,1/3cutting roots) as treatments,and integrate roots group as a control. We discussed the effects ofcutting roots on the growth traits and root architecture of T. miqueliana seedings. The resultswere shown as follows:1. Cutting roots reduced the biological weight of main roots and roots of T.miquelianaseedings;2/3cutting main roots and1/3cutting main roots increased the biological weight oflateral root. But Whereas great discrepancy in effects of different cutting roots ratio on the plantheight, basal diameter and the biological weight of shoots and roots of T.miqueliana seedlingsdoesn't present.2. Cutting roots decreaced the length of main root of T. miqueliana, promoted the emergenceof lateral roots, increaced the number of lateral roots and heightened the position lateral roots, itprevented the roots from coiling irregularly.3. Cutting roots directly inhabited the growth of the main root, and decreace the number ofthe of first-order lateral root, with the proportion of the roots cutting increasing, this effect wasprogressive.2/3cutting main roots can increaced the total length of lateral root, the number oftips, the average root diameter, the total root surface and the total root volume, it acceleratedroots' abilities to absorb the nutrient and water, and increaced the survival rate;1/2cutting mianroots decreaced the number of tips, the average root diameter;1/3cutting main roots decreace thenumber of tips, the total root surface. On the whole,2/3cutting main roots were best.
