Coming of China, Prunus mume is loved by the masses as a kind of famous traditional flowers. 5 cultivars of Prunus mume were used in the experiment of this paper, such as Prunus mume'Changrui Lü-e', Prunus mume'Sanlun Yudie', Prunus mume'Dongfan Zhusha', Prunus mume'Song Chun'and Prunus mume'Nanjin Wanfen'. The cold resistance conditions of the 5 cultivars of Prunus mume were studied by measuring physiological indexes of their leaves under the different temperature treatment, the parameters of photosynthetic characteristics were measured by Li - 6400 portable photosynthesis system and MINI - PAM chlorophyll fluorescence analyzer.In addition, the landscape application of Prunus mume and cultivation and management technology were indagated in this paper. The main conclusions are as follows:1.Cryogenic stress engender resistance and reaction for all the 5 cultivars of Prunus mume. According to the logistic equation, the LT50 of'Changrui Lü-e','Sanlun Yudie','Dongfan Zhusha','Song Chun'and'Nanjin Wanfen'were -7.76℃,-10.68℃,-4.54℃,-10.97℃,-5.81℃. The cold resistance sequence of the 5 cultivars were'Song Chun'>'Changrui Lü-e'>'Sanlun Yudie'>'Nanjin Wanfen'>'Dongfan Zhusha'.2.The Light compensation points of the 5 cultivars of Prunus mume are 15.4~34.6μmol·m-2·s-1, the Light saturation point are 300~560μmol·m-2·s-1, The available light intensity of'Changrui Lü-e'.was biggest, followed by'Sanlun Yudie','Dongfan Zhusha','Nanjin Wanfen', and'Song Chun'was narrow correspondingly, apparent photosynthetic quantum yield of'Song Chun'was higher,and The Light compensation points of it was lower than other species, which indicates that its resistance to negative is stronger than other cultivars.3.The fluorescence parameters"Fv/Fm, Fv/Fo"of 5 cultivars of Prunus mume had significant differences,'Song Chun'and'Dongfan Zhusha'were significantly higher than other cultivars, so the photosynthetic performance of'Song Chun'and'Dongfan Zhusha'were better than other species.4.In the south of the Yangtze, the landscape application of Prunus mume was different in different areas: Xiangxue hai, Suzhou city,had a long history than others, but the plant community landscape was relatively single; Plum Blossom Hill had characteristic landscape as Prunus mume and Tea; The cultivars of Prunus mume were abundant, and it was original that they designed garden in front of Prunus mume hill in Plum Garden, Wuxi city; Chaoshan Scenic Spot and Lingfeng, Hangzhou City, paid their attention to the culture of Prunus mume in landscape, and the plant landscape of them were good; Xuanwu Lake Park was characteristic for Prunus mume landscape in the lakeshore; Shanghai Centure Park used large numbers of big sapling of Prunus mume in its design, which had tendency of the day.5. The cultivation and management of Prunus mume can be divided into 5 part: breeding, transplanting, water and fertilizer management, pest control and florescence regulation. We should pay attention to the disease and insect control in the anniversary management of Prunus mume.
