GABA, which is a natural active ingredient and is widely distributed in animals and plants involves in a variety of metabolic activities of organisms with high physical activity can improve the adaptability of plants to stress. This article took corn, soybeans, wheat seedlings as experimental materials to explore the effect ofγ-amino butyric acid and its composite reagent on the growth and development of crop seedlings by measuring its shoot and root dry weight, fresh weight, chlorophyll, soluble protein content, soluble sugar content and nitrate reductase activity indicators such as morphological and physiological indicators on 1,4,7,10 day after treatment, respectively on trefoil heart period and the first period of a triple-compound leaf, using foliar spraying methods. The results are as follows:1. Spraying 30g·L-1 GABA and 15g·L-1 Betaine increased soluble sugar and soluble protein content, but it hurt the crop leaves and chlorophyll content decreased, meanwhile the plant root are also affected, shoot and root dry weight, fresh weight are also reduced. So the application of GABA use need to be diluted to promote the growth and development of crop.2. With 500 mg·L-1,250 mg·L-1,166 mg·L-1,125 mg·L-1 GABA as well as GABA complex reagent (GABA300ppm, Betaine150ppm, Inositol 300ppm, Choline chloride 200ppm) foliar spraying, the data show, GABA can improve crop seedlings'shoot and root dry weight and fresh weight, chlorophyll content, soluble sugar content and soluble protein content, to extend the period of leaf function, improve the photosynthetic efficiency and is conducive to greater accumulation of photosynthetic products. The nitrate reductase activity of crop leaves also has a certain degree of improvement than the controI.These indicate GABA could extend the time of use and transformation of nitrogen to promote the accumulation of assimilation substance and has a significant role in promoting the physical growth of crop. The 250ppm GABA is best for maize and the GABA complex reagent (liquor II) is best for soybeans and wheat.
