The waxy maize is one special type of corn, to be received from its ear for the main harvest object in crop production. We should not only pay attention to yield of breeding but must take quality breeding. This study adopts the four-row wax which is most typical waxy maize materials in China for experimental donor. We applied the transcriptomic sequencing technology (RNA-Seq) in sequence of the ear differentiation stage and analysis the ear developmental genes in Chinese waxy maize to explore the development the panicle traits relating gene and function. The main results are as follows:1. More than 2.4 G data is generated through transcriptomic sequencing. To get 589040 contigs and 129983 scaffolds four which is then assemblyed and annotated.2.39833 sequences are matched 13369 genes, and the gene functions consist of cellular component, molecular function and biological process.3. There are 29828 bar sequences can be assigned to the 25 categories. The five function of the main genetic before the category are:"general function prediction only", "posttranslational modification, protein turnover and chaperones", "signal transduction mechanisms", "amino acid transport and metabolism" and "translation, ribosomal structure and biogenesis".4. There are 90463 assembled CDS sequences of Four-row wax mapped on B73's CDS sequences with blastn, and 71619 translated sequences mapped on B73's protein sequences with blastx.5. Homeobox search shows that 6 gene families (HD-ZIPⅣ,HD-ZIPⅢ,DDT. HD-ZIPⅠ,HD-ZIPⅡand WOX) have conserved domain.6. In WRKY super gene family, there are 7 gene families (ⅡC,ICT,Ⅱa,INT,Ⅱe,Ⅱd andⅢ) had conserved domain.
