Cyclobalanopsis glauca and Cyclobalanopsis gliva are evergreen and broadleaf arbor of Fagaceae, because of the beautiful and well greening effect, they were became the excellent native species inurban and rural landscape in recent years. However, due to the straight root system well-developed andlateral root weak-development, there were low survival rate of transplant, so container nursery isnecessary. This paper takes C. glauca and C. gliva as test materials, study the effect of matrix formulaand fertilization. By comparison of diameter at foot, root length, plant height,, soluble sugar contents, the contents of soluble protein, Chlorophyll and other indexes, filitering out the best matrix formulationand fertilization programs for two seedlings growth, provided the theoretical basis and technical supportfor the two species. The main results showed that:Screening of nursery containers matrix: Collect four common agricultural and forest wastematerials, twigs and defoliation, sawdust, mushroom residues and drug waste, after fermentation anddisfinfects, then mixed into9kinds of matrix formulation in different proportions, and compared withdaily substrates (peat︰perlite=6︰4), determining the physical and chemical properties. Combine theseproperties to analysis the growth conditions of two seedlings in different matrices. Result showed thatthe2nd matrix (peat︰perlite︰drug waste︰twigs and defoliation=2︰3︰2︰3) was the best matrixformula for C. glauca container seedlings. The4th (perlite︰mushroom residues︰drug waste︰twigsand defoliation=4︰2︰2︰2) and the7th matrix (peat︰perlite︰twigs and defoliation=3︰4︰3) wasalso suitable for live. There were three matrix formula suitable for C. gliva, the best one was the4th(perlite︰mushroom residues︰drug waste︰twigs and defoliation=4︰2︰2︰2), followed by the2nd(peat︰perlite︰drug waste︰twigs and defoliation=2︰3︰2︰3) and the1st((peat︰perlite︰mushroom residues︰drug waste=3︰3︰2︰2). Compare the roots situation of C. glauca and C. gliva, where growth in the exposed cultivation and light substrates, believe that light substrates is favor ofseedling root growth, and promote lateral root development ang form a root ball.Screening of the fertilization: The experimental design8kinds of different N,P,K ratio, onecompound fertilizer and one slow-release fertilizer, in totle10fertilizer formulas, to study the growth of C. glauca and C. gliva. Filitering out the best fertilization for C. glauca was the2rd(N︰P︰K=2︰1︰1), and the8th compound fertilizer was best for C. gliva.
