The paper focused on the new region of Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University, andanalyzed woody plant communities through community ecology method based on the data and pictureswhich were collected by filed investigation. It was evaluated campus plants landscape comprehensivelyaccording to the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), and analyzed typical landscape with plantlandscaping theory in order to summarize features of campus plants landscape, so that the results canoffer certain advices on later campus landscape design. The main conclusions were as follows:1. According to the landscape function and the position of main road, The campus landscape isdivided into five functional areas containing living service area, sports area, east lake scenic area, teaching area, scientific research and production area. The structure and diversity of woody plantcommunities which based on the botanical garden planning divisions in the former four functional areaswere analyzed in the paper, and the results showed that east lake scenic area is superior to others in thecommunity complexity and species diversity. The main woody plant species of each area were asfollows: There were191species of woody plants belonging to57families and112genera in livingservice area,165species of woody plants belonging to54families and105genera in sports area,309species of woody plants belonging to69families and170genera in east lake scenic area, and205species of woody plants belonging to59families and120genera in teaching area.2. By the methods of filed investigation and enquiring relative experts,80typical plantcommunities were elected to evaluate their plant landscape by the Analytic Hierarchy Process. Theoutcome of the comprehensive evaluation index showed that6communities were on the first grade,49communities were on the second grade,23communities were on the third grade and2communitieswere on the fourth grade. As the centre landscape zone, east lake scenic area was4first grade,14second grade and5third grade communities separately among the result, which illustrated that it hasmore advantages on the aspects of visual effect, ecological benefit, service function and culturalimplication.3. The conclusion of analyzing typical plant sceneries with plant landscaping theory showed thatthose plant communities have abundant species, graceful tree forms, significant seasonal landscapes, clear hierarchical structure with aggregation distributed flowering shrubs and ground cover plants, otherwise, waterside and forest edge landscapes were more outstanding than inland and in-forestlandscapes respectively.
