The landscaping industry has been experiencing a rapid development, dut tothe sustained and fast growth of China's economic, urbanization and requirements onenvironmental quality. Facing with such a trend, the researchers and scholars havedone a lot of researches, but most of them concentrate on the floriculture and nurserystock industry, which involves the industry,s structure, status, problems,competitiveness, as well as the theories about the industrial cluster, organization,management, market analysis, industry development strategies and trends, etc. Otherstudies also have pay more attention to the cultivation and conservation of plants, theintroduction and cultivation of new varieties, the methods of landscape design andconstruction, the principles and the construction of instances, the project managementand cost accounting, etc. Therefore, there is a necessity and urgency for the marketresearch of landscaping industry.Firstly, this dissertation starts with the basic concept of the landscapingindustry. According to the investors and the purpose of use, the landscaping industrialmarket can be mainly divided into eight types: the urban public space, the real estate,the enterprises and institutions, the ecological restoration, the private gardens, thefloriculture and nursery stock, the maintenance and the others. Secondly, by means ofMichael PEST analysis model, the close connections between the landscapingindustry and the macro-economy, policy, technology and socio-culture are analysed.And the types of industrial chain were investigated basing on the characteristics of theproduct itself. Then, taking the Market Forecast Model, Porter's Five Forces Model,Bain classification and Structure-Conduct-Performance Model as methods, the marketsize and competitiveness are summarized from the enterprise quantity, operatingrevenue, productivity distribution, market size and structure, and then the businessmodel, human resources and equity incentives are compared. Finally, the problemsfacing landscaping industry, such as the macro-control environment, bidding, nurserystock, design, construction and financing, are successively discussed. Aiming at theseissues, countermeasure is proposed, providing a reference for the theory and practiceof the landscaping market.
