BackgroundOxidative stress exists during the cause of kidney disease, and related to the occurrence and development of renal disease, it is an important risk factors of CKD patients prognostic. With further research, AOPPs, founded in 1996, can be used as new markers of oxidative stress, and can indirectly reflects the level of oxidative stress. It is also considered to play the same important role with DNA, lipid peroxidea-tion and the oxidation of sugar. There are some reports that AOPPs level increased in patients who have chronic kidney disease, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. There is no domestic research report the clearance of AOPPs in peritoneal dialysis and ether the comparence of hemodialysis with peritoneal dialysis. The popers of this study is to observe the level of AOPPs in patients with CKD 5 stage who were performed peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis, and to study the relationship between AOPPs and related indicators, analysis the impact and clearance of AOPPs in different dialysis modalities, and confirme the impact factors of AOPPs. It can provide a new reference of clinical dialysis and provide new targets for clinical therapy, to improve long-term complications and the quality of life and to reduce mortality in dialysis patients.MethodsThis study compared 50 patients with CKD 5 stage by the cross-sectional study, they were performed dialysis treatment for 3 years, then collect cases,16 patients with peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis patients 23 cases,31 cases of healthy volunt-eers. Plasma AOPPs was measured for all peoples and the serum albumin (ALB), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG) and other biochemical parameters are also measured in dialysis patients. All measurement data are used as mean±standard deviation, statistical analysis using statistical package SPSS 16.0. The difference are considered to be statistically significant when P<0.05. Results(1) AOPPs concentration of healthy control group is 12.98±2.27μmol/L, AOPPs concentration of CKD 5 stage non-dialysis patients is 20.56±8.25μmol/L. There is significantly higher than health groups (P=0.000). (2)There's no significant difference of AOPPs in Peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis groups before dialysis, then after 3 year of dialysis, there's a significant growth of AOPPs (P= 0.000), but still there's no significant difference of AOPPs between two groups. (3) Peritoneal dialysis solution AOPPs concentration is 18.17±3.72μmol/L in peritoneal dialysis patients. (4) Hemoglobin, albumin and triglycerides increased significantly in two group of patients after dialysis and phosphorus decreased, blood calcium increased; Hemodialysis group was significantly higher than the peritoneal dialysis group after dialysis in albumin, urea, serum calcium levels. AOPPs analysis with the indicators related with BMI (r=0.353, P=0.028), triglycerides (r=0.404, P=0.011) were positively correlated.Conclusion(1) There is high AOPPs level of CKD 5 stage non-dialysis patients. (2) AOPPs in dialysis patients is higher than non-dialysis patients, there's no difference of AOPPs level in peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis patients, indicated that whether hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis were significantly increased oxidative stress, and the degree is similarity. (3) Peritoneal dialysis dialysate containing a high level of AOPPs, prompted some of peritoneal dialysis can remove part of AOPPs. (4) AOPPs level has positive correlation with BMI and triglyceride, and has no significant relative to hemoglobin, albumin, creatinine, urea nitrogen, cholesterol, calcium, phosphorus and C-reactive protein.
