Treadmill Exercise Test Study On Treatment Of Chest Stuffiness And Pains By Promoting Blood Circulation And Removing Blood Stasis Therapy With Compound Polygonumorientale Injection

Research Objectives:Chest stuffiness and pains is the disease with the symposium of stuffiness and pains in chest, which belongs to the scope of modern medicine coronary heart disease and angina pectoris. Recent years, this disease has increased gradually along with the improvement of living level and changes of working style, more ever, with a trend of rejuvenation. So the prevention of coronary heart disease is one of the focuses of medical research.Chest stuffiness and pains can be classified into different syndrome categories. Among of them, stasis of heart blood is the most usual category. So, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis therapy is widely used by traditional Chinese medicine to cure chest stuffiness and pains. Compound Polygonumorientale injection has the function of promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis and relieving pains in chest. It can be used to cure the chest stuffiness and pains with the syndrome of heart blood stasis. Electrocardiogram treadmill exercise test was used to observe the myocardial ischemia of coronary heart disease. By use of this method, we analyzed the changes on ST-segment of electrocardiogram and angina pectoris for the patients accepting the compound Polygonumorientale injection, judged the improvement extend of myocardial ischemia of the patients, and finally determined the effects of the medicine for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. This research demonstrates the advantages and characteristics of the therapy by promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis used by Chinese traditional medicine to cure chest stuffiness and pains, and contributes a lot to providing new medicines for clinical therapy for the disease. Research method:35 volunteer patients were selected in the way of random to constitute the test group. These patients accepted the treatment by injection of the compound Polygonumorientale. Another 15 patients were selected to constitute the control group. These patients accepted the commonly used treatment by injection of the compound Salvia miltiorrhiza. Electrocardiogram treadmill exercise test was used to observe the changes of ST-segment of electrocardiogram and the changes of angina pectoris for the patients accepting the injection of the above mentioned medicines correspondingly. A therapeutic effect comparison analysis was made between the two groups. By this way, we can judge the improvement extend of myocardial ischemia of the patients, and finally evaluate the therapeutic effect of the compound Polygonumorientale injection.Research results:After a 14-day's treatment with the medicine for 35 volunteer patients, obvious improvements are identified by analyzing the changes on ST-segment of electrocardiogram recorded in the treadmill test. For some patients, the occurrence of angina pectoris symposium was delayed or even disappeared, which is same to the therapeutic effect for the patients in the control group. That means an improvement of myocardial ischemia for the patients.Research conclusion:Compound Polygonumorientale injection can improve the myocardial ischemia for chest stuffiness and pains patients with syndrome of heart blood stasis. This medicine has the protection effect on myocardial ischemia. The research shows that the promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis therapy has good therapeutic effect on chest stuffiness and pains treatment.
