OBJECTIVE1. To investigate the expression of HPA,CK2βand HIF-1αgene in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) tissues, and the correlation between their expression with the clinical characteristics of NPC.2. To analyse the relativity of HPA,CK2βand HIF-1αgene in NPC tissues.3. To investigate the effect of HPA,CK2βand HIF-1αgene on prognosis of NPC patients.METHODHPA, CK2βand HIF-1αwere detected with Super-Vision immunohistochemical method using antibody in 49 NPC specimens and 15 specimens with CNT. Statistical Product and Services Solutions (SPSS) statistical software (version 13.00) was applied for data analysis.RESULTS1. The over expression of HPA in NPC tissues and CNT Tissues were 49.0% and 6.7%, and the difference was significant (P=0.003). The expression of HPA were significantly related to the TNM stage and whether recurrence-metastasis group after treatment (P=0.046 and 0.001, separately), but there was no obvious correlation with its expression and the sex, age of NPC patient (P>0.05).2. The over expression of CK2βin NPC tissues and CNT Tissues were 44.9% and 13.3%, and the difference was significant (P=0.027). The expression of CK2βwere significantly related to the TNM stage and whether recurrence-metastasis group after treatment (P=0.026 and 0.030, separately), but there was no obvious correlation with its expression and the sex, age of NPC patient (P>0.05).3. The over expression of HIF-1αin NPC tissues and CNT Tissues were 40.8% and 6.7%, and the difference was significant (P=0.014). The expression of HIF-1αwere significantly related to the age of patient, TNM stage and whether recurrence-metastasis group after treatment (P=0.002, 0.027 and 0.005, separately), but there was no obvious correlation with its expression and the sex of NPC patient (P>0.05).4. The expression of HPA , CK2βand HIF-1αin NPC tissues was positively correlated with each other (P=0.012,0.006 and 0.000, separately).5. The survival time of patients was related to the TNM stage and whether recurrence-metastasis group after treatment, the difference were significant (P=0.020 and 0.000, separately). The survival rates in patients with over expression of HPA , CK2βand HIF-1αwere significantly lower than those in patients with low expression(P=0.001, 0.019 and 0.011, separately). Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that just whether the recurrence-metastasis group after treatment was independent prognostic factor (P=0.001).CONCLUSION1. HPA, CK2βand HIF-1αplay synergetic role in development of NPC. Which play an important role in invasiveness, recurrence and metastasis of NPC.2. There could be a positive cooperation among HPA, CK2βand HIF-1αin the carcinogenesis and development of NPC.3. The high level of TNM stage, recurrence-metastasis after treatment and the over expression of HPA, CK2βand HIF-1αin NPC contributes to poor outcome.4. The recurrence-metastasis group after treatment was the independent prognostic factor of the patients with NPC, while the expression of HPA,CK2βand HIF-1αwere not.
