The Therapeutic Effect Of Valsartan Combining With Astragalus On Diabetic Nephropathy At Early Stage

ObjectiveTo explore the efficiency and mechanism of the valsartan combined with astragalus for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy (DN) by observing the indicators regard to the treatment, the indicators including UAER, Beta2-MG, BUN, SCr, FBG, ALB, TG, TC, blood rheology and blood pressure levels. Our objective was to improve the treatment effect of diabetic nephropathy, control and delay the development of DN.MethodsA total of 120 patients with type 2 diabetes were selected from hospital from June 2008 to June 2010. The subjects were randomly assigned into two groups. There were 60 patients between each group. Two both groups were all treated with insulin to control blood glucose and oral administration of valsartan 160 mg per day. The group B was treated with Huang qi injecta 50 ml plus physiological saline 250 ml per day for 4 weeks in a course. The study observed the 24 h (U-ALB), urine Beta 2-microglobulin (Beta 2-MG), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (SCr), fasting blood glucose (FBG), plasma albumin (ALB), total cholesterol (TG), triglycerides (TC), blood rheology, changes in blood pressure levels of the two groups before and after treatment, while cough and serum potassium were also be monitored.Results1,There were no significant different in age, gender, proteinuria, renal function and blood pressure between the two groups.2,After treatment, the U-ALB and urineβ2-MG of group B were significantly lower than both before (P<0.05). The U-ALB and urineβ2-MG of group A were both higher than the group B after treatment (P<0.05).3,After treatment, the BUN and SCr of group B were significantly lower than both before and the group A (P<0.05). The BUN and SCr of group A were both higher than group B after treatment (P<0.05).4,After treatment, the FBG level was significantly lower than before in both groups (P<0.05); the ALB level was Increased slightly, but there no statistics significance (P>0.05).5,After treatment, the SBP and DBP level were lower significantly than before in both groups (P<0.05); no significant differences were found in SBP and DBP before and after treatment (P>0.05).6,After treatment, the blood rheology level of group B were significantly lower than both before and the group A (P<0.05). However, no significant differences in blood rheology level before and after treatment in the group A (P>0.05).7,No untoward effects were observed in the entire observation process.ConclusionThe studies indicate that the treatment of early diabetic nephropathy by valsartan combining with astragalus can improve various indicators, reduce kidney injury and protect renal function. It has widespread clinical practice value for no untoward effect is observed.
