Schisandra Quality Standard Research

There are two major methods to establish the quality standard of the traditional Chinese medicine which are the artificial experience method and the instrumental analysis. The advantage of the experience method is the results could reflection the pharmacodynamics, but it is subjective. The advantage of the instrumental analysis is objective, but sometime the chemical analysised is not the efficient compound. The near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technology is being utilized for quality standard recently. In this thesis, the relationship about the experience method, the instrumental analysis and NIRS is studied, collecting 30 different lots of Schisandra chinensis as study materials. Firstly, the quality of samples is judged by the experience method. Secondly, the quantitation of the marker components is tested by analysis instruments and the NIRS spectrum is scaned. The marker components are lixiviation percent of water, lixiviation percent of ethanol, the contents of lignans, schisandrin A and schisandrin B. Finally, the relationship of the three methods is analysed. The results showed that lixiviation percent of water, the lixiviation of ethanol, the contents of lignans and schisandrin A are relative with the experience method. The experience method, lixiviation percent of water and the content of schisandrin B could be built data analysis model of NIRS. Superior grade of Schisandra chinensis can be judged the following data, lixiviation percent of water is greater than 40%, lixiviation percent of ethanol is greater than 37%, the contents of lignans is greater than 12mg/g, schisandrin A is greater than 1.6mg/g. This research carried out the basic research of quality standard of Schisandra chinensis with more clinical value. The result can be utilized in the quality control of an enterprise, especiallyn in purchasing the medicinal material. The data analysis models of NIRS have a good prediction ability, which can be used for quality control of Schisandra chinensis.
