Electronic medical records are stored electronically to lifelong health, which is a real healthy compilation throughout a person's whole life. As an important source for medical information, it meets the clinical, legal and administrative requirements. Now, with the development of digital hospital, electronic medical record, as the core of clinical information systems,through two-way referral, remote consultation and other information sharing methods, continue to strengthen the exchange of information between hospitals, improve the quality of care and save health care costs. Compared with the traditional medical records, electronic medical records own a convenient query, a good sharing, convenient communication, and many other advantages. However, in the construction of electronic medical records, we encountered many problems,which are not only the standards,technical and other objective obstacles, but also hospital administrators, physicians, patients and other subjective obstacles. For the sharing of electronic medical records, China is still at an early exploratory stage, while abroad, especially in the United States, Canada, UK, Netherlands, Japan and other countries, has a considerable degree of application and research, and it has made great Achievements both in theory and practice aspects.This article is mainly divided into four parts:First of all, introduces the background,significance and reaserch status at home and abroad in electronic medical records sharing; Secondly, introduces the concept, advantages and disadvantages and standards of electronic medical records; then,summarizes the pattern and development of sharing electronic medical records at home and abroad, on the basis of comparative analysis, obtained for our model of sharing electronic medical records;In the end, from the subjective and objective point of view, drawing on foreign experience, proposed solutions when encountered obstacles in sharing electronic medical records.
