The Clinical Study Of Acupuncture Combined With Head And Body Points On Vascular Dementia

Objective:Observation and explore of head and body acupuncture points with acupuncture on the clinical effect and mechanism of vascular dementia. Provide a scientific basis for the mechanism of acupuncture treatment of vascular dementia.Methods:To 60 cases of vascular dementia outpatients were randomly divided into acupuncture treatment group and the control group, each group were 30 cases. Acupuncture group received the treatment of head and body acupuncture points, and the control group treated with western medicine piracetam. Two weeks for a course of treatment, a total of two courses of treatment. The use of internationally accepted diagnostic and assessment criteria, before and after treatment, in the use of the mini-mental state examination(MMSE), activities of daily living ability to scale(ADL) disease detection and evaluation standard of Chinese dementia to stay for observation and evaluation. SPSS software with the data were statistically analyzed.Results:1.before and after acupuncture treatment group MMSE scale score were significantly different(P<0.01), prompted the acupuncture combined with head and body points on vascular dementia have better efficacy; 2.before and after acupuncture treatment group ADL scale score were significantly different(P<0.01), prompted the acupuncture combined with head and body points on vascular dementia have better efficacy; 3. the efficacy of acupuncture group and control group comparison was significant different(P<0.05), prompted the acupuncture combined with head and body points on vascular dementia have more effective than western medicine piracetam; 4.Chinese spent disease assessment results show that:the treatment group was 86.67% efficient and the control group was 76.67% efficient, the two groups showed significant difference (P< 0.05), prompted the acupuncture combined with head and body points on vascular dementia have more effective in improving the clinical symptoms than western medicine piracetam.Conclusion:1.the acupuncture combined with head and body points on vascular dementia have therapeutic implications, can significantly improve the symptoms in patients with dementia; 2. the acupuncture combined with head and body points can improve the intelligence and the ability of daily living of patients with vascular dementia; 3. the acupuncture combined with head and body points is a effective and reliable method, it should be widely applied in clinical practice because it is economical and practical and no side-effects.
