Objective:To compare the curative effects of acupuncture plus point injection with simple point injection on the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods:With the ideal circumstance that blood glucose being in good control, we divided sixty peripheral neuropathy in diabetic patients into two groups randomly, and each group had thirty patients. We named the group treated by acupuncture plus point injection for the treatment group, and the Mecobalamin were injected. The acupuncture point were EX and Gongsun, Yongquan,Taixi, Yinlingquan and the point injection were Sanyinjiao and Zusanli. The other group treated by acupuncture only was regarded as the control group. The patients'common peroneal nerve and tibial nerve conduction velocity were observed after two courses of the treatment. The symptoms integral and Michigan rating scale were also recorded before and after the treatment.Results:1. The total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group are 90.0% (27/30) and 63.3% (19/30), respectively. The difference of the two groups have statistical significance (P<0.05);2. The treatment group's symptoms integral is lower thanthe control group after the treatment(P<0.01);3. The treatment group's tibial nerve integral is higher than the control group after the treatment(P<0.05);4.The treatment group's tibial nerve MNCV and SNCV are higher than the control group after the treatment(P<0.05); 5.The treatment group's common peroneal nerve MNCV and SNCV are higher than the control group after the treatment(P<0.01); Conclusions:1. The two treatment methods with the penetrating acupuncture and electric acupuncture plus point injection and the simple point injection for the double lower limbs diabetic peripheral neuropathy are valid.2.
