Objective:To explore expression and clinical significance of FHIT, survivin and caspase-3 protein, and the relationship among them in epithelial ovarian cancer.Methods:Detect the expression of FHIT, survivin and caspase-3 protein by immun-ohistochemistry in normal ovary, benign cystadenoma, borderline cystadenoma and epithelial ovarian cancer.Results:1. The expression of FHIT, survivin and caspase-3 in different ovarian tissue.1.1 The expression of FHIT in epithelial ovarian cancer and caspase-3 were significantly lower than normal ovary, benign epithelial cystadenoma and borderline epithelial cystadenoma(P<0.05).1.2 The expression of survivin in normal ovary and benign epithelial cystadenoma significantly were lower than in borderline epithelial cystadenoma and epithelial ovarian cancer (P<0.01).1.3 The expression of survivin in borderline epithelial cystadenoma respectively compared with epithelial ovarian cancer without treated with chemotherapy or treated with chemotherapy, There was no statistical significance(P>0.05).2. FHIT, survivin and caspase-3 relate to epithelial ovarian cancer.2.1 The expression of FHIT and survivin in epithelial ovarian cancer had significantly correlations with pathological grade, clinical stage(P<0.05). The expression of caspase-3 protein had significantly correlations with clinical stage(P<0.05), but not with pathological grade(P>0.05).2.2 The expression of FHIT, survivin and caspase-3 didnt show correlation with age(P>0.05). 3. There was negative correlation between FHIT expression and survivin expression in epithelial ovarian cancer,P<0.01,C=0.54. FHIT and survivin expression didn,t related to caspase-3 expression.Conclusion:1. FHIT aberrant expression and survivin expression were correlated with tumorigenesis, development, invasion, metastasis, prognosis and drug resistance in epithelial ovarian cancer.2. FHIT and survivin may play a important roles in the tumorigenesis and development in epithelial ovarian cancer.3. There is no correlation among FHIT, surviving and caspase-3 in epithelial ovarian cancer.
