| Objective:To compare the clinical outcome of injectable calcium sulfate cement vertebroplasty combined with transpedicle fixation in the pations with thoracolumbar fractures and treat only with transpedicle fixation,according to the clinical effects of short-term follow-up, hope that we can get the evidence that the injectable calcium sulfate can be treat in the pations with thoracolumbar fractures.Methods:The clinical data of 35 patients with thoracolumbar fractures that had been admitted to our hospital from 2005.1-2009.5 were retrospectively analyzed,divided into treatment group and control group,the treatment group were 18 cases that treated with injectable calcium sulfate cement vertebroplasty combined with transpedicle fixation,the other group treated with transpedicle fixation only. Removal of interal fixation after 10-22 months later,, the average time of 15 months,follow-up after removal of internal fixation for 3-5 months.Compare to the two groups in the loss of anterior vertebral height,the healing rate of vertebral bone and screws fixed period of lossening-breakage after 3 days surgery,6 months after surgery,1 day before fixation removed and the final follow-up.Results:There were no significant difference in the loss of anterior vertebral height.However, the difference was statistically significant in thel day before fixation removed and the final follow-up about the loss of anterior vertebral height. The two groups in the rate of internal fixation-loosening and bone healing rates also have significant differences.Conclusion:Injectable calcium sulfate cement vertebroplasty combined with transpedicle fixation for the treatment of thoracolumbar fractures can not only rebuild the vertebral height,but also for healing spinal injuries have a good induction.It can also reduce the incidence of loosening of internal fixation,including the fixation can be better maintained after removing vertebral height. |
